STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 1 MOVIE
They’ve captured the lighting, atmosphere, colours, and general feel of the movie locations perfectly. Maps include the crash site of a Rebel transport ship on Endor, Echo Base from the The Empire Strikes Back’s Battle of Hoth, and Tatooine’s Jundland Wastes. Powered by DICE’s Frostbite engine, they all look fantastic-especially the dense foliage and towering trees of Endor. There’s the desert world of Tatooine, the forest moon of Endor, the snowy plains of Hoth, and a volcanic planet called Sullust. There are four planets to fight on, each of which contain several maps. You really do feel like you’re in the films. Its large-scale battles are chaotic, breathless explosions of iconic Star Wars imagery, and it’s hard not to get swept up in the spectacle. Get this, the prize doesn't matter. In the thick of a 40-player battle, with X-wings screaming overhead, John Williams’ score blaring, and laser fire criss-crossing the battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront can feel like the most exciting game ever made. ( ) 8/8 Simply one of the best games ever made.

( ) 7/8 Outstanding game, a milestone of it‘s respective genre. (X) 6/8 Great game, universal recommendation. Worth 20 to 25 bucks max, if you are not a fan. ( ) 5/8 Good game, Must-play for genre- / series-fans. Only for hardcore-fans of respective genre / series. Worth a couple of Cents at best, if at all. Seriously flawed with barely any redeeming qualities. ( ) 0/8 Simply one of the worst games ever made. Even if you just play it against the fairly competent bots, you can get quite a few hours of solid fun out of this. That's 7 measly bucks!), Battlefront 2015 is a solid investment for basically everybody who likes Star Wars and/or multiplayer-shooters with flawless presentation. But nowadays, for like 20 Euros for the Ultimate Edition, which includes all the DLC Packs (at the time of this review it is even on Star Wars Day sale for a whoopin' 65% off. And it's not like that there are many usable vehicles on the maps (barely any to be precise), so the criticism Battlefront got at release was absolutely legit. Yes, technically there are those few aerial combat missions, too, but they kinda suck, so i'm not gonna count them. The big point of criticism is (or rather was) the nearly unbelievable lack of content in the base game: No singleplayer campaign whatsoever, only a handful of short training missions, just about a dozen of maps and basically only three game modes (Team Deathmatch, Survival and Walker Attack). In addition, they really nailed the gunplay with all the blasters.
STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 1 PLUS
The absolutely chaotic stuff going on on the battlefield plus the simply outstanding visual design of the maps makes for some epic Star Wars feeling par excellence. The amazing sound was basically to be expected, too. The game is almost 8 years old now, still it looks like it was released just yesterday, and it runs pretty smoothly. You can hate EA all you want and yes, the DLC policy with this thing at release was just another Electronic Farts-rip-off, but the game itself is far from being bad. I expected the worst and only planned for a few quick botmatches, but surprisingly I had so much fun with the game that I spent close to 12 hours with it on a single weekend (base game only, didn't try the Season Pass content!). It's May 4th, so what do I do? Rewatch all the movies and finally play all the remaining Star Wars games on my bucket list? Hell yeah!Īfter a disappointing start with Jedi Fallen Order the next game on my schedule was Battlefront 2015. Happy Star Wars Day 2023 with a review of Battlefront 2015.
